Teradata Utilities 🔍 BTEQ BTEQ serves as the pioneering Teradata query tool, facilitating seamless data import and export operations, ideally suited for datasets comprising fewer than 500,000 rows. It also excels as a report generation tool. 🚀 FastLoad FastLoad swiftly inserts data into empty Teradata tables, operating in 64K blocks. However, it imposes limitations such as the absence of Secondary Indexes, Triggers, Referential Integrity, or Join Indexes on the table. 🔄 MultiLoad MultiLoad efficiently loads data into populated Teradata tables in 64K blocks, supporting a range of operations including Inserts, Updates, Deletes, and Upserts. Similar to FastLoad, it prohibits the presence of Unique Secondary Indexes, Triggers, Referential Integrity, or Join Indexes. ⚙️ TPump TPump offers granular control over data loading at the row level, distinguishing itself from MultiLoad which operates at the block level. Its dynamic pumping feature enables users to adjust load quantities as needed. Additionally, TPump accommodates Secondary Indexes, Referential Integrity, Triggers, and Join Indexes. 💼 FastExport FastExport facilitates rapid data extraction from Teradata, functioning at the block level. Unlike BTEQ Export, it is the preferred choice for exporting datasets exceeding 500,000 rows. 🔗 TPT (Teradata Parallel Transport) TPT represents a unified scripting language encompassing all aforementioned utilities, streamlining data management tasks into a cohesive framework.
