Team: Data & AI

Reports to: CTO

About the Role:

We’re looking for a Data Engineer to help design, build, and scale the data foundation powering project's AI-driven platform. You will work closely with the CTO and AI team to develop robust data systems, ensure high data quality, and enable the organization to make smarter, data-backed decisions.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll help shape how project ingests, processes, and leverages data across our products, analytics, and AI workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines, data lakes, and data warehouses to support analytics and AI.
  • Develop scalable ETL workflows using Python, integrating data from multiple APIs and sources.
  • Manage and optimize datasets using MongoDB and Google BigQuery.
  • Implement data validation, governance, and security best practices.
  • Leverage AWS services to manage and orchestrate large-scale data infrastructure with high availability and performance.
  • Work with DevOps to automate and monitor data processes through CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with AI and Product teams to enable ML and LLM-based data workflows.
  • Continuously improve data reliability, performance, and accessibility across systems.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience with data pipelines, warehousing, and data lakes.
  • Proficiency in Python with a focus on data processing, orchestration, and API integration.
  • Hands-on experience with MongoDB and Google BigQuery.
  • Solid experience with AWS (data and compute services such as S3, EC2, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, etc.).
  • Familiarity with Airflow, dbt, Spark, or similar ETL frameworks.
  • Understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, Git, and deployment automation.
  • Strong focus on data quality, governance, security, performance, and scalability.
  • Knowledge of LLMs, AI/ML workflows, or data integration for AI is a plus.

Why Join Us:

  • Be part of a fast-growing startup at the intersection of AI and automotive technology.
  • Work directly with the CTO and core engineering team on high-impact projects.
  • Contribute to an AI-driven platform shaping the future of car discovery in Australia.
