Location: Remote within Southeast Asia

Work Hours: Flexible, aligned with Southeast Asia time zones (Monday to Friday preferred)

Our client, a global technology company, is seeking a Java Engineer to join their operations team remotely from Southeast Asia. This role focuses on maintaining and supporting existing backend systems, making it ideal for candidates who enjoy system stability, problem-solving, and reliability. Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and support existing Java backend systems and API services
• Review and understand system documentation, technical specifications, and architecture
• Handle minor feature updates, bug fixes, and performance tuning as needed
• Conduct troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and configuration adjustments
• Collaborate with global operations teams using Slack, Zoom, and other communication tools
• Participate in an on-call rotation to respond to production incidents when required

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development
• Solid understanding of relational databases and SQL
• Familiarity with Redis or other caching technologies is a plus
• Proficient in Linux command-line operations
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS / GCP) is an advantage but not mandatory
• Proficient in Chinese (Mandarin) for communication; good English skills preferred
