Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of backend systems that power our responsive web applications and APIs. You must have 7+ years experience as a backend developer. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in Node.js, MySQL, RESTful APIs, and backend architecture, with a proven track record of building scalable, reliable, and high-performance solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain robust RESTful APIs
- Design and implement scalable backend services for new product features
- Build reusable, modular, and maintainable backend components
- Create efficient MySQL schemas and optimize complex queries
- Troubleshoot, profile, and optimize server and database performance
- Write clean, well-structured, and thoroughly tested code
- Collaborate with the product team to define requirements and deliver solutions
- Contribute to system architecture and technology design decisions
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of backend development experience
- 4+ years with Node.js / JavaScript
- Advanced MySQL expertise (schema design, query optimization)
- Strong experience with RESTful API design and integration
- Familiarity with server-side rendering frameworks and PDF generation
- Experience with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Git workflows
- Solid grasp of backend architecture and design patterns
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with data analytics and ETL
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Knowledge of authentication/authorization (JWT, OAuth, SAML)
- Exposure to microservices or event-driven architecture
