Job Description

As the Cloud Core Back Office Engineer at Nokia, you'll be part of a dedicated team of engineers focused on the operation and maintenance of our Linux-based Hypervisor, Virtualization, and OpenStack management systems. Your role is essential in ensuring the stability and efficiency of our data center network operations while providing vital support to business units for their daily operational queries. How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn

  • Oversee a team of engineers in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux/Unix servers within an OpenStack-based private cloud environment, Nokia Cloud Security
  • Oversee daily system monitoring to ensure integrity, availability, and performance of hardware, server resources, and key processes.
  • Should have good understanding of networking technologies like Software Define Network, routing protocols including BGP/OSPF/ISIS and MPLS VPNs
  • Strong understanding of Layer 2/3 protocols, DNS, DHCP, QoS, VLANs, VRFs, and STP
  • Strong understanding of SDN, VXLAN, EVPN.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system issues promptly to maintain operational stability and throughput.
  • Implement regular security monitoring and coordinate responses to identify and mitigate potential intrusions.
  • Develop automation solutions through scripting (Ansible, Python, Bash) to enhance system administration efficiency.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including installation procedures, runbooks, and network topology diagrams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network solutions with business needs and support incident response efforts.
  • Prepare on-call rotation schedules and manage data center network operations, including SDN-based infrastructures and security measures.

Key Skills And Experience

You have:

  • Hands-on experience with Linux/Red Hat Operating Systems
  • At least 8+ years of cloud operations & hands–on Linux Administration/cloud & BGP/OSPF/ISIS and MPLS experience in a production environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills on Linux servers and virtual machines
  • Knowledge of storage technologies like CEPH/SAN infrastructure
  • Understanding of networking technologies such as SDN and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, MPLS)
  • Experience with Nokia, Juniper, and Palo Alto network equipment

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Knowledge of HA Cluster and Disaster Recovery configurations
  • Familiarity with firewalls, IDS/IPS, and network segmentation
  • Experience in incident response and compliance documentation
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration in a fast-paced environment
