Job Description
The infrastructure Operation Engineer is expected to monitor the overall infrastructure by using internal monitoring tools and alerts such as ELK, Grafana, Pulse, PagerDuty, etc, and cater to requests initiated by the Customer support team. Should be able to perform second-level support to the customer where required. Keep a keen eye on infrastructure to ensure the defined SLO and SLAs.
Expectations from the role:
- Should monitor network and infrastructure performance and uptime.
- Give second-level support to the customer support team.
- Strong knowledge of OS packages, roles, and features for CentOS, Ubuntu, Rocky-Linux, and Windows server 2016/2019.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate complex multivariate problems and find a systematic approach to gain a quick resolution.
- Knowledge of VPN protocols, such as OpenConnect, OpenVPN, Cisco-IPsec, and ikev2.
- Should be able to configure systems remotely, including OS installation, etc.
- Knowledge of proxy servers i.e Squid, SNI proxy, etc
- Knowledge of security best practices, vulnerability patching, virtual patching, and large-scale infrastructure.
- Knowledge of automation scripting PowerShell, and Bash scripting.
- Knowledge of orchestration tools, writing playbooks for Ansible, Terraform, etc.
- Knowledge of virtualization KVM, Hyper-V, VMware.
- Knowledge of cloud services such as AWS, Digital-Ocean, and Azure.
- Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health.
- Measure and optimize system performance, and innovate to continually improve infrastructure
- Comfortable with collaboration, open communication, and reaching across functional borders
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor, BE, BS, etc in Computer Science, or Telecommunications/ electronics/ electrical.
- 6Months to 1 year of work experience as a System and network administrator.
- Working experience in a 24/7 discipline.
- Excellent Communication & documentation skills.
Technical Skills:
Must Haves - PowerShell, and Bash scripting,CentOS, Ubuntu
Nice to Have - system performance,Digital-Ocean, and Azure.
